Our Mission

Founded in 1944, the Dental Laboratory Association of Texas (DLAT) represents and supports the dental laboratory profession across the state of Texas. Our mission is to advance the art, science, and business of dental technology through education, advocacy, and community.

DLAT exists to empower dental laboratory professionals—owners, managers, and technicians—by providing access to continuing education, networking opportunities, professional recognition, and representation within the dental industry.

Who We Are

The DLAT is a non-profit professional organization made up of dental laboratory owners, technicians, educators, suppliers, and students. We are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of ethics, quality, and innovation in dental technology.

As a volunteer-driven association, DLAT is proud of its 80+ years of service to the Texas dental laboratory community. Our members are the backbone of the dental restoration process, creating the crowns, dentures, orthodontic appliances, and other devices that restore function and confidence to patients every day.

What We Do

• Continuing Education:
  DLAT provides high-quality educational programs throughout the year, including the annual DLAT/ORG Conference & Expo—the largest dental lab conference in the Southwest. Attendees can earn all required CE credits for the year in one weekend through scientific, technical, and professional development courses.

• Networking & Community:
  Our events bring together dental technicians, lab owners, educators, and manufacturers to share knowledge, ideas, and innovations that push the profession forward.

• Advocacy & Representation:
  DLAT works closely with the National Association of Dental Laboratories (NADL), the National Board for Certification in Dental Laboratory Technology (NBC), and the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners (TSBDE) to represent the interests of Texas laboratories and uphold professional standards.

• Recognition & Growth:
  DLAT honors excellence in the field through awards, milestone CDT recognitions, and opportunities to serve in leadership roles within the association.
